Your 3-year homeowner warranty

We believe that our customers deserve total peace of mind when purchasing a SyncEV BG charger.  Confident with our workmanship and state of the art technology we offer a comprehensive 3 year warranty for homeowners who decide to have our products fitted be our recommended installation partners or fitted under the OZEV grant scheme.

If installed by a non-recommended installer we offer a 1-year parts only warranty unless the product is registered on our website for an extended 3 year parts only warranty. The product must be registered within 48hrs of installation.

SyncEV BG will not accept any returns from end users/Installers or Wholesalers who have not obtained an RMA number from our support team. All products returned without this number will be returned to sender.

What does my warranty cover?

A SyncEV BG guarantee covers the repair or replacement (at our discretion) of your charge point if it is found to be defective due to faulty materials or workmanship within the applicable guarantee period.

By law, this warranty must be registered from June 2022 to ensure compliance with UK Government regulations regarding EV Smart Chargers.

What is not covered by my warranty?

  • Normal wear and tear, including parts that might wear out over time.
  • Accidental damage, theft or vandalism.
  • Damage from external sources including, but not limited to; floods, lightning strikes, electrical outages or power surges.
  • Damage as a result of use not in accordance with our instructions.
  • Damage caused by connecting to an incorrectly rated electricity supply.
  • Damage caused by not carrying out any recommended maintenance.
  • Failures caused by circumstances outside of our control.
  • Relocation of the Product after its first installation
  • Connectivity issues (Unless hardware related)
  • Installation related issues (1 or 3 years parts only warranty)
  • Cost of re-installation after replacement has been sent (1 or 3 years parts only warranty)

Faults caused by:

  • Negligent use, misuse, neglect or careless operation.
  • Use of a SyncEV BG chargepoint for anything other than charging an electric vehicle.
  • Use of parts and accessories which are not SyncEV BG genuine parts.
  • Parts or faults associated with your existing electrical installation including, but not limited to consumer units, breakers (MCB’s, RCD’s) or cables.
  • Faulty assembly or installation (except where carried out by a SyncEV BG installer).
  • Repairs or alterations carried out by parties other than SyncEV BG or its authorised agents.
  • The maximum liability of SyncEV BG under this warranty is limited to the purchase price of the product covered by the warranty.  SyncEV BG accepts no liability to the end customer for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.

In the instance that we need to send an engineer on-site following a claim, you will be responsible to pay our engineer call out fee if:

  • You haven’t followed the instructions of our customer service staff
  • We have made the decision to send an engineer on-site based on information that you provided to us that is deemed fraudulent, false, or misleading

Nothing in this warranty will affect the end customer’s statutory rights or limit or exclude any SyncEV BG liabilities which under law cannot be limited or excluded. Except where it would be unlawful for SyncEV BG to exclude or limit liability, the maximum liability of SyncEV BG under this warranty is limited to the purchase price of the Product covered by the warranty and is strictly limited to losses that were reasonably foreseeable.  

SyncEV BG only supply products for resale for domestic and non-commercial use. Except where it would be unlawful for SyncEV BG to exclude or limit liability, SyncEV BG accept no liability to the end customer for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity, revenue, contracts, data, goodwill or any indirect or consequential losses. 

This warranty and any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with it or its subject matter or formation shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and the English courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.  

How can I claim against my Warranty?

When installed on the recommended SyncEV BG installer scheme

If we are unable to remedy the fault over the phone, we will, at our sole discretion, appoint a SyncEV BG approved warranty installer for your Product to either be repaired or replaced with the same or functionally equivalent Product by SyncEV BG. 

The appointed installer will be sent your contact details to arrange a suitable time to visit your home and fix the fault. 

Only an installer that has been appointed and arranged by SyncEV BG can conduct your repair, if you arrange your own installer, this warranty will be null and void. 

If the product was not installed by an approved SyncEV BG installer, or the fault has been caused by an incorrect installation, you must contact your original installer to arrange a repair; incorrect installations are not covered by this warranty.

Is my Warranty transferrable?

Yes, your warranty is transferrable to a new owner of your property should you sell the house and leave the SyncEV BG charger behind.  Please contact us at

If you move to a new property and you take your Product with you, provided the Product is removed and re-installed by a SyncEV BG approved and trained installer we will, following your request, maintain the warranty protection for your Product in your new property.  

If you have received a grant under the OZEV Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme, you must have also informed OZEV of the change of address. You can find more details regarding this requirement at the following link;   

We reserve the right to check that OZEV has been informed of the change in address.  Until they have been informed we will not be able to register the new address and your Product will not be covered by the warranty. 

Even if your warranty is transferred the Warranty Period continues and does not begin again.
